Objectives of the Technical Support Program:

The support provided under the DG Reform programme includes technical support to AGIF, I.P. in the implementation of the National Plan for Integrated Management of Rural Fires (PNGIFR), in particular in the three pilot regions in the north, centre and south of the country. The projects aim to create more appropriate tools for the new process of governance and integrated management, in a bottom-up approach, shared among the various stakeholders. Through strategic and collaborative landscape planning, the risk of fire can be reduced, which makes territories more attractive to private investment in large projects through public funds under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

In order to promote the change in risk behaviours it will be necessary to develop a communication strategy and implement training programs for the agents of the Systems that act locally, main stakeholders and target population groups. Collective actions are very important to promote more fire-resilient landscapes, through the involvement of the largest number of agricultural and forestry producers, not only to contribute to the reduction of rural fire risk but also to help design solutions to optimize the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of projects.
